Adventures In Wedding Planning :: Engagement Photo
I know this song is an ode to hip hop.
But the part that goes “Love of my life”?
That describes how I feel about Clyde.
WE FINALLY TOOK OUR ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS!!! The weather finally cooperated and gave us a gorgeous SoCal day. My amazing and talented friends all dragged themselves out of their warm beds to get to my house at 8 in the morning. I made coffee.
Clara from Clara Kim Beauty immediately got to work. She made me GORGEOUS! Clyde kept sneaking peeks at me throughout the day and told me I looked really pretty a lot. I made sure to flutter my awesome lashes at him a lot. ~_^

This is my lovely friend, Clara.
No, that’s not me she’s working on.
She’s the reason why my hair stayed curled and I looked so pretty!
Margaret took our photos with BG on hand as the voice activated light set-er up-er. Rounding out our merry band of happy misfits is none other than Monica Moon. She was our official foam board mover + giant reflector of light thingy holder up-er + background set designer person of awesomeness.

Monica in all her awesome glory!!!
My original plan was to hit up Eureka Cafe. We wanted to feed our friends because they’re doing all this for us. The least we could do is feed them an awesome meal. I love this place. I love and adore family owned businesses and will do everything I can to support them. This place is one of them. If you like good food and pancakes that will haunt your dreams, this is the place to come. If you ever do decide to drop by, tell them Bonnie says hello!
So why this little place? Clyde and I have been coming here pretty much since we started dating. Chinese New Year 2010 was our first time here. We were barely into our first month together as boyfriend-girlfriend. He used Yelp to search for a good breakfast place because I really wanted breakfast food. The rest was history. We’ve been coming here ever since. The reasons why we wanted to take some of our engagement photos here are :
1. This place is special to us and we love it here.
2. The name!! It’s like “EUREKA!!! WE FOUND LOVE AND EACH OTHER!!!”
Super corny, I know.
After drinking most of the almond champagne Therese showered us with (thank you!!! Did I mention they now serve champagne now? Yup…guess what I’ll be swilling down with my food when we go. Haa haa haa!), we were able to take some hilarious pictures. I made sure to share the bubbly….but somehow most of it ended up in my flute. I wasn’t complaining. I think I kept saying “Cham-pag-nye” all afternoon. Oops. Haa haa haa!
My original plan was to hit up Eureka, Walt Disney Concert Center and Little Tokyo. That didn’t happen and I’m so happy. I’ve seen so many amazing engagement photos taken at both Walt Disney Concert Hall and Little Tokyo. I was trying to think of some way to make ours different and unique but couldn’t really think of anything. I decided to scrap the original plan the day of our photo session and decided to fly by the seat of our pants. Yup, that’s how I plan. By the seat of my pants. It works.
That’s how we ended up at Museum Square on Wilshire because I loved one of their fountains. I was so sad the water was turned off during the weekend but we still had a blast with the sculpture and the giant terra cotta pots.
Our last stop of the day? PinkBerry in Koreatown. Clyde and I are froyo fiends. We love it so much. We treated our friends to some delicious froyo and snapped a few more pictures. The reason why I picked this PinkBerry in lieu of all other froyo shops? Easy. The writing is on the wall….literally. Inscribed into the wall above our heads were the words “Falling in love…”
And that, my friends, is what I hope we’ll be doing for the rest of our lives. I can’t wait to see the pictures.

looking forward to seeing the engagement pics soon!
what a fun day y’all had.
Hi hi!
We had so much fun! Good food, good friends….how can it not be a good time? ^___^
Pics will be up soon-ish. Hooray!!!
