Beauty Product Review : Philessential Antioxidant Serum

Hello there, Beauty Queens and Chic Geeks!

I’m sure you’ve all noticed by now how dry this winter has been in sunny SoCal. I hate driving in the rain in Los Angeles. Back in Hawaii, it rains all the time! Driving in it is no big thang. Here, however….oh, man…

While I’m not complaining about the glorious, warm and sunny weather, my skin is. I have an oily complexion but the skin on the rest of my body is dry like Death Valley. It is not sexy to be as scaly as an iguana.

Adding insult to injury is my job as an Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse. My hands take a daily beating from putting on gloves, taking them off and washing them constantly with the really crappy and harsh soap the hospital provides. You know, I think if the hospitals give their nurses better products (like La Mer or something….just sayin’), it would really make us and our hands happier.

Anyway, I digress.

Like I was saying, my hands take a beating and they were starting to get that scaly, flaky look that doesn’t look sexy on anybody. In addition, they were starting to look dull and really aged beyond their years. đŸ˜¦

Yes, this is really my hand. Yes, I’m really that pale.
No, I don’t glow in the dark….I think.

Direct your attention to the skin right above my pointer finger knuckle. Do you see the white flakes and scales lifting off of my hand?

That’s how dry my skin gets. I tried everything to get my skin supple and soft again. I tried body butters (very temporary fix), lotions (my skin ate it up and laughed at it) and rich butters with Dead Sea minerals (my skin said “Can’t touch this”).

Can you see the scales?
I can… Dislike dislike dislike.

Nothing worked…and then I tried Philessential Antioxidant Serum capsules.

Here’s what it’s supposed to do :

  • minimize signs of aging
  • promote beautiful and glowing skin
  • promote collagen production and skin elasticity while reducing the appearance of fine lines.
  • helps improve skin tone

This stuff is not tested on animals (hooray!!!) and Philessential is a company listed on Leaping Bunny. I love cruelty free products.

This serum is meant to be used on your face but since I have super dry skin on my hands, that’s where I tested this stuff out.

Good things comes in small, heart shaped capsules.
Good things like natural Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Vitamin E.
Yum yum for my parched skin!

In a nutshell, here is what I think :

  • It doesn’t look like there’s a lot of product but that seemingly small amount was enough to cover BOTH my hands from top to palms and slightly beyond my wrists.
  • It’s super oily but does not stay that way on your skin.
  • My skin sucked it up and instantly felt better.
  • The effects from one capsule lasts quite a while.
  • I’ve forgotten to use them every day and I’ve seen an improvement with 7 capsules over 21 days.
  • These smell DELICIOUS!! If you like the smell of lemons, you’ll like this naturally scented product.

If you like Dermalogica Age Smart Multivitamin Power Concentrate but don’t like the price tag associated with it, give this stuff a try!

Ta da!! No flakes and scales anywhere!!
This is 7 capsules and 21 days later.
