I Love Vacation. My Waistline Does Not.
I love vacation. I love Tahiti. Alas, rich French foods all day everyday for 7 days + minimal activity + 4 days of Vegas over indulgence = an unwanted additional 15 pounds.
* By “minimal activity”, I mean besides lifting my wine glass to my lips, pointing to random fish/clams and announcing their presence to my husband.
Yes. 15 POUNDS. I’m so sad. It’s not like I’m in my 20’s any more where I can magically shrink just by thinking about it. The downside of being 30 is that I have to actually work at it.
So fine. I accept. Game on.
I’m going to start chronicling what I eat again.
Breakfast – one slice wheat toast, 1/2 serving cream cheese, 1 serving smoked salmon, 1 serving lettuce.
Lunch – the same.
Plan for dinner – Shakeology shake in chocolate with low fat milk.
Snack – apples.
Exercise – I clocked in an average of 3 – 5 miles a day from working 12.5 hour shifts as a nurse. Gonna add in 3 days of 30 minutes on the treadmill starting tomorrow.
…..not as fun as fried chicken and pizza but I’m vain and I want to look fly in my clothes.
Hey, at least I’m honest.
15 pounds of leisure and no stress… just think of it as an equal trade? : P
My fiance and I are thinking of Italy or France for our honeymoon. I think I can safely say that I’ll be seeing an extra 10 pounds in my near future. Haha. I’m vain too. Hey, a girl needs to shop and if I’m charging something I’d better look cute in it. : )
Having a food journal helps me too. If you don’t have one yet, I suggest myfitnesspal.com. There’s a great message board that helps. Good luck!
I would happy do it all again, 15 pounds and all!! Now to look at losing these 15 (and hopefully a few more) as my next adventure since I need something to obsess about now. ^_^
Oh wow….your honeymoon sounds amazing….enjoy every bite!! Take pictures!! Food porn is great! Now if only I could smell the food too….. * drool *
Thanks for the rec!! I gotta go take a look… 😀
you can do it! 😉
Thanks, girl!!! I’m seeing some results but, MAN….this is sad…. * sigh *
As long as I can squeeze into my size small scrubs, I am happy! I don’t care if the seams groan a bit. ^^
Nice post. For another option in Tahiti you might like to look at my post on the MS Paul Gaugin. http://caroleschatter.blogspot.co.nz/2012/03/ms-paul-gaugin.html
Thanks! I like your post too. I love the photo of the floating bar!
